मिथिला की विरासतThe Heritage of Mithila
मिथिला क्षेत्र — उत्तर बिहार, झारखंड के कुछ भागों एवं नेपाल के तराई तक फैला — भारत की सबसे पुरानी ज्ञान-परम्पराओं में से एक का घर रहा है। The Mithila region — spanning northern Bihar, parts of Jharkhand, and Nepal's Terai — has long been home to one of India's oldest knowledge traditions.
मधुबनी / मिथिला चित्रकला — महिलाओं द्वारा पीढ़ी-दर-पीढ़ी चली आ रही यह लोक-चित्र शैली मूलतः घर की दीवारों पर बनाई जाती थी। इसे 2007 में भौगोलिक संकेत (GI) टैग प्राप्त हुआ।Madhubani / Mithila painting — a folk-art tradition passed down by women for generations, originally painted on home walls, received a Geographical Indication (GI) tag in 2007.
इस कला की सबसे पुरानी साहित्यिक झलक 14वीं शताब्दी के कवि विद्यापति की रचनाओं में मिलती है।The earliest literary references to this art appear in the works of the 14th-century poet Vidyapati.
1975 में जितवारपुर की जगदम्बा देवी को इस कला के लिए पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया गया — तब से कई मैथिल कलाकारों को राष्ट्रीय सम्मान मिल चुका है।In 1975, Jagdamba Devi of Jitwarpur was awarded the Padma Shri for this art — several Maithil artists have since received national honours.
मैथिली भाषा — संवैधानिक मान्यताMaithili — Constitutional Recognition
मैथिली, बिहार, झारखंड एवं नेपाल में बोली जाने वाली एक समृद्ध इंडो-आर्यन भाषा है, जिसका अपना साहित्य, लिपि-परम्परा एवं सदियों पुराना इतिहास है।Maithili is a rich Indo-Aryan language spoken across Bihar, Jharkhand and Nepal, with its own literature, script tradition, and centuries-old history.
आठवीं अनुसूची में शामिलIncluded in Eighth Schedule
वर्ष 2003 में 92वें संविधान संशोधन के माध्यम से मैथिली को बोडो, डोगरी एवं संथाली के साथ भारतीय संविधान की आठवीं अनुसूची में शामिल किया गया, जिससे यह देश की 22 आधिकारिक मान्यता प्राप्त भाषाओं में शामिल हो गई।In 2003, through the 92nd Constitutional Amendment, Maithili was added to the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution alongside Bodo, Dogri and Santhali — bringing it among India's 22 officially recognised languages.
शिक्षा एवं परीक्षाओं में स्थानPlace in Education & Exams
आठवीं अनुसूची में शामिल होने के बाद मैथिली को UPSC सहित कई प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं में वैकल्पिक विषय के रूप में मान्यता मिली, जिससे साहित्य एवं शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में इसका विकास सुगम हुआ।Following its inclusion, Maithili gained recognition as an optional subject in competitive exams including the UPSC, supporting its growth in literature and education.
साहित्यिक परम्पराLiterary Tradition
विद्यापति की पदावली से लेकर आधुनिक मैथिली साहित्य तक, इस भाषा की एक जीवंत काव्य एवं गद्य परम्परा रही है, जिसे साहित्य अकादमी द्वारा भी मान्यता प्राप्त है।From Vidyapati's padavali to modern Maithili literature, the language has a living tradition of poetry and prose, recognised by the Sahitya Akademi.

Moved by this, I resolved to establish BMBKM.

आज तक महासभा ने समाज को गलत रास्ते पर ले जाने वाले तत्वों के विरुद्ध सतत संघर्ष और रोकथाम का कार्य किया है। समाज में फूट डालने, सांस्कृतिक मूल्यों को कमजोर करने और युवा पीढ़ी को भटकाने वाले लोगों के खिलाफ महासभा ने मजबूत रुख अपनाया है, और साथ ही पूरे समाज में एकता की लहर पैदा की है — विभिन्न क्षेत्रों, विचारों और आयु वर्ग के मैथिल ब्राह्मणों को एक मंच पर लाकर संगठित करने का ऐतिहासिक कार्य किया है। Mahasabha has continuously worked against elements attempting to mislead the community, taking a firm stand against those weakening cultural values and misdirecting the youth — while creating a wave of unity, bringing Maithil Brahmins of every region, view, and age group onto one platform.
सेवा और संकट काल में योगदानService During the Crisis
कोरोना महामारी के भयावह दौर में, जब लोग घर से निकलने में भी डरते थे, राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष पंडित सुरेंद्र शर्मा और उनके सहयोगी कार्यकर्ता सबसे आगे आए। अपनी जान की परवाह किए बिना उन्होंने जरूरतमंद, असहाय, वृद्ध और महिलाओं तक घर-घर जाकर राशन, दवाइयाँ, ऑक्सीजन एवं आवश्यक सहायता पहुँचाई — यह सेवा भावना पूरे देश में सराहनीय रही।During the COVID pandemic, National President Pt. Surendra Sharma and fellow workers went door-to-door delivering ration, medicines, oxygen and essential help to the needy, elderly, and women — service that was appreciated nationwide.
सामाजिक सुरक्षा और न्यायSocial Security & Justice
लव जिहाद के चंगुल में फँसी दर्जनों मैथिल ब्राह्मण लड़कियों को कार्यकर्ताओं ने साहसपूर्वक बचाया, कानूनी मदद दिलाई और घर वापसी कराई। शोषित, वंचित एवं पीड़ित व्यक्तियों को कानूनी, सामाजिक व प्रशासनिक न्याय दिलाने का कार्य निरंतर जारी है। गुजरात, दिल्ली एवं हरियाणा में समाज के लिए धर्मशाला निर्माण हेतु भूमि अर्जित की गई है।Workers courageously rescued dozens of Maithil Brahmin girls from exploitation, provided legal help, and reunited them with family. Legal, social and administrative justice continues for the exploited and deprived. Land has been secured for community dharamshalas in Gujarat, Delhi and Haryana.
संगठनात्मक विस्तारOrganizational Expansion
महासभा वर्तमान में 12 राज्यों में सक्रिय है। दिल्ली, हरियाणा, उत्तर प्रदेश, राजस्थान एवं गुजरात में यह पूरी तरह मजबूत एवं सक्रिय रूप से कार्यरत है। सैकड़ों समर्पित कार्यकर्ता दिन-रात समाज हित में लगे हुए हैं, क्योंकि यह संगठन सिर्फ बात नहीं करता, बल्कि मैदान में उतरकर काम करता है।Mahasabha is currently active in 12 states, with a strong presence in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Hundreds of dedicated workers serve the community's interest day and night — this organization doesn't just talk, it works on the ground.
